Jam Sessions
ABOUT
We sometimes hold jam sessions where guitarists can get together and play, with Danny’s guidance. Students often ask how they can find other musicians to jam with, so we decided to arrange these sessions as a way for people to meet other guitar players, build confidence and experience playing music in a group.
Playing music with other people is really fun and teaches you a lot about how music works in a real playing context. The sessions will demonstrate how music is structured, arranged and developed and will help guitar students contextualise some of the topics covered in their lessons. You might even decide to get together and jam some more in your own time.
WHO
Jam sessions are available to our regular guitar students and members of the public. Group sizes will be restricted so the sessions remain productive for everyone. These sessions are designed for adults only.
HOW
Sign up via the form below. We’ll then send you a confirmation email and a song to learn for the next session.
For each song there will be several versions available to match people's skill levels. All versions will work together, so we can play the song as a group. Some people will be strumming basic chords, some will be playing more interesting chord voicings and some will be picking melodies. There may even be some guitar solos too!
Attendees are welcome to bring either an acoustic or electric guitar. Please note, electric guitarists will need to bring their own amps and keep the volume reasonable.

"Jam sessions are a great addition to regular guitar lessons. Collaborating with other people on a piece of music helps everyone get better at arrangements and dynamics, boosts creativity and improves our interaction skills with other musicians. It's also a fantastic way to meet like-minded people who enjoy all things guitar and music."
